This class will explore how Israel is taught on American college campuses and why it gets short shrift in Jewish Studies realms. Topics of discussion will include: • How do Jewish students identify on campus? • Who is there to assist them in sustaining their Jewish/Israel connections • What anti-Israel and anti-Jewish activities do they confront and how can Jewish communities be more responsive? • Views from the front of the classroom
