Consider enriching your family life by being a ShinShinim host family!
We are now accepting applications to host during the 2023-24 school year – Meet Ido and Omer!

ShinShinim (a Hebrew acronym for Shnat Sherut or “year of service”) are the best and brightest of Israel’s recent high school graduates who defer army service for one year to become Israel emissaries in Jewish communities around the world.
They volunteer, engage people of all ages with Israel and bring Israeli culture to life.
Consider this once in a lifetime experience of being a host family to one of our visiting Israeli Young Emissaries (ShinShin), Ido or Omer.
Families needed for a 3-month housing commitment for each, beginning in late August.
Opening your home to a ShinShin will no doubt bring great rewards to your entire family. Past host families regard this as one of the most enriching experiences they have ever had and express that they feel they have not only gained a new family member but have also gained a whole new understanding of what it’s like to be an Israeli.

Our ShinShinim serve as a living bridge between the Orlando community and Israel.
They bring their energy, love of Israel and fresh views to our synagogues, religious schools, preschools and Jewish Community Center through educational lessons, presentations, arts and crafts, music and personal connections with community members of all ages.
